These notes describe the content of the combined Declaration of Conformity for the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Directive 2014/53/EU and the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2011/65/EU.
A Declaration is your legally binding statement that your equipment meets the essential requirements of the applicable Directive(s), by means of the standards listed. As such, it must only be completed and signed once these requirements have been met.
This declaration format is suitable for telecommunications apparatus such as mobile phones, WiFi base stations, GPS receivers and similar equipment, including modules with telecommunications functionality intended to be built into other equipment.
The RED Directive is mutually exclusive with the Low Voltage and EMC directives and so these should not appear on the same Declaration.
This Declaration is intended for products which comply with the relevant Harmonised standards and for which the manufacturer is performing a self-declaration. The content for products where a Notified Body has been involved in attesting to conformity with the Directive is different. Please contact us for additional assistance if your product has undergone Notified Body approval.
If other Directives, such as the ATEX equipment Directive or the Ecodesign Directive apply, then it may be necessary to affix the CE logo for these directives and they should be identified on the Declaration. This model Declaration should not be used in these circumstances.
